New and improved for 2025, our ‘In The Firing Line’ experience provides you with a unique opportunity to head back in time to investigate a high profile case for yourself, analysing the forensic evidence to come to your own scientific conclusion as to what went on.

The murder of Reeva Steenkamp was a tragic loss which should never have occurred. The case became controversial as Pistorius claimed he had killed his girlfriend after having mistaken her for an intruder. There was also uncertainty as to whether or not the Paralympian had been on his prosthetic legs at the time of the offence, which was crucial to the investigation.

Through forensic exploration, you will analyse everything from ballistics, including; rifling & firing marks, bullet identification & comparison, gun shot residue testing and trajectory. You will then look at injuries and bruising from the post-mortem report to match tool & weapon marks. Stomach contents will also be analysed, as well as forensic linguistics to see how witness statements, audio analysis and sound wave travel can affect the validity of evidence.
