Pricing is always a tricky subject isn’t it! We’ve always tried to be as fair with our costings as possible, making our facilities as accessible to as many people as we can. Whether you’re a school, community group or business looking for an away-day, we want you to get as much out of our events as you can, but unfortunately this does cost money.

We’ve put together a bit of a breakdown to try and help explain how we cost up our services.

HOW WE PRICE OUR SERVICES


OUR EXPERTS

We provide a minimum of two members of staff per event, who are all specialists in a variety of disciplines. From pathologists to detectives, our team have a wealth of knowledge in forensic and crime investigation techniques and can relate their lived experiences to everything we do.

To hire this talented bunch, we pay their wages, and incur the costs of PAYE, relevant insurances, DBS certifications and safeguarding checks.

EQUIPMENT

Luckily for you, all our equipment is exactly what is used by real CSI’s. This means that all resources and techniques are as they would be in the field. To let you get hands-on in the sessions, there are a number of provisions which have to be replenished each time such as fingerprint powders, forms and lifters, shoe casting powders and foams etc.

In some cases, we use machinery and scientific kit which can only be purchased from specialist suppliers and can be difficult to get hold of.

We are as cost-effective as we can be and buy crime suits in bulk as we know how tight budgets are. This must all be kept in storage which costs money.

Many costs go unseen, as they are accrued in the preparation, loading and checking back in of  equipment. In some cases, there may be servicing/repairs and cleaning before going to another event.

RUNNING COSTS

Not only do we have the staff you see at events, but we also have office staff who are responsible for making everything happen. Answering your queries, packing orders and organising events is a full time job and one which sometimes goes unnoticed. On top of this, we have to pay for the necessities such as office space, heating, payroll & accounting software, telephones and internet.

TRAVEL COSTS

We’re a Yorkshire based business with staff from all over the country, so travel always has to be factored in. If we come to you, we have to charge for the travelling, accommodation and meals. We obviously try to keep these costs as low as possible, but we value our staff and want to provide decent facilities so we look for good ‘medium budget’ hotels. 

Unfortunately, although we do everything to keep costs down, they do mount up, and we do have to build profit into the sessions to make the business sustainable, we also have to add VAT to the prices quoted. If you have any queries or specific questions, please do get in touch.
