Our one-of-a-kind crime scene centre is set to give everyone a chance to come along and experience crime solving for themselves. We offer a variety of workshops, both half-day and full, to the general public, providing an unique experience for everyone that walks through our doors.

Each of our experiences are hosted by experts in the field, including CSI’s, forensic scientists, crash investigators, senior investigating officers, major crime detectives, anthropologists and more…

CSI EXPERIENCE

Ever fancied your chances of becoming a crack investigator? Our CSI Experiences are your chance to prove that you’ve got what it takes. On arrival at our dedicated crime centre you will be kitted out in crime scene suits and taught some techniques essential to crime investigation. Then, under the guidance of our experts, you will become a team of crime scene investigators with your very own crime scene to investigate. Be it murder or kidnap – it’s up to YOU to find out what’s happened and to solve the crime. Using real life techniques, you will examine evidence including:

  • Developing and lifing fingerprints

  • Casting and lifting footwear marks electronically

  • Photographing crime scenes

  • Gathering evidence

  • Interviewing witnesses

  • Communicating via radios

DIGGING DEEPER INTO FORENSICS

Explore the evidence behind a high-profile famous crime, throughout you will be tasked with running the operation and examining the evidence from start to finish. How would you compare to the actual investigators?

Evidence analysis includes:

  • Forensic entomology – the importance of insects, establishing time of death and confirming cause.

  • Forensic toxicology – identifying poisons

  • DNA analysis, facts behind DNA and analysing your own DNA

  • Hair & Fibre – microscopy, establishing race and ethnicity, animals vs. human, origin of fibres

  • Blood spatter – reading spatter patterns, Boris the blood spatter head, analysing the blood spatter head.

THE ART OF FAKING IT

A one-of-a-kind workshops which delves into the complex world of art fraud. As with all types of crime, it has become more difficult than ever to get away with, as forensic techniqes continue to develop, helping us spot a copycat before they form a name for themselves.

An art collector has had his home broken into and several works of art have been stolen, there is reason to believe this may be a fraudulent insurance claim. Working alongside a local artist and our forensic team, the workshop allows you to get hands-on, examining pieces of art to see if you can determine their authenticity.

Think Forensic have teamed with The Art Room to look at how fraudulent art is revealed – would you make it as an Authenticator of artwork? Or even a good forger?
