Visit our purpose-built Crime Centre for an immersive, hands-on experience in realistic forensic settings, or let our expert team bring the workshop to your campus. Each session is tailored to your learners’ level and curriculum, with the flexibility to mix and match modules for a full day of engaging, practical learning.

Develop practical forensic skills and techniques used by professionals in the field. Topics include:
Scene safety, PPE and contamination control
Recording, searching and evidence collection
Packaging and documentation procedures
Hands-on activities may include: fingerprint development, hair & fibre analysis, footwear marks, blood spatter analysis, entomology
workshop 2: fire investigation
Explore the chemistry, behaviour and investigation of fire. Students examine realistic fire scenes to determine cause, origin and development.
Scene preservation and safety
Chemistry of fire (tetrahedron, combustion, phases)
Pyrolysis, flashover and backdraught
Burn patterns and identifying point of origin
workshop 3: road traffic collision investigation
Investigate a simulated road traffic collision to determine the cause and sequence of events.
Human, environmental & vehicle factors
The science of motion, friction and reaction times
Laws relating to drink/drug driving, speed and safety
Practical investigation: scene documentation, vehicle examination and witness interviewing
workshop 4: tabletop emergency planning exercise
Step into the role of an emergency response coordinator. Teams manage a simulated multi-agency incident involving a serious road collision and hazardous materials.
